Museo Frida Kahlo

Lyza and I visited the Museo Frida Kahlo on our trip to Mexico City. It was amazing how much her home embodied her, from her studio space and clothing, to her collections of artifacts, contemporary art, and memorabilia. It reminded me of the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, and how both artists saw every aspect of their lifestyle as an opportunity to express themselves.

I was especially obsessed with her collection of puppets (which I think were made by a friend), and her use of these tiny terra cotta pots that we saw everywhere in local markets to personalize her kitchen.
